Three fatalities occurred and no fewer than nine people sustained injuries in Ukraine's latest attack on the Russian border region of Belgorod, as reported by its governor.

The deaths happened following a strike on the village of Maslova Pristan during Wednesday morning, authorities reported. Emergency workers were continuing to search for people potentially caught under debris.

For the third day in a row that Ukraine has targeted the region, leaving thousands of people experiencing blackouts and a minimum of two more persons fatally injured.

Wave of Assaults Result in Destruction

Wednesday's series of missile and drone strikes harmed houses, vehicles and energy systems in multiple districts of Belgorod, as reported by government communications.

Sources published photographs from Maslova Pristan depicting a athletic facility with its structure and exterior demolished, and said that rescue workers were removing wreckage and assessing the damage.

Within the adjacent community of Moshchenoye, half a dozen persons - including a child - got hurt when a rocket and drone hit a vehicle, while a man was hurt when a vehicle was targeted in Masychevo.
